All the personal information supplied by you, whether voluntarily or mandatory, will be recorded. Further, information processing will happen regardless of the form or medium in which the information is supplied. We have a strong commitment to respecting privacy concerns and will expressly request information that personally identifies you or allows us to contact you.
If you are under 18 years of age (a minor), we will require the consent of your parent/guardian/competent person before we process such minor's personal information, unless it is in the public interest that we do so. If you have furnished us with personal information on behalf of a third party, you acknowledge that you have the necessary consent to agree to our terms on behalf of the third party. Further, you indemnify us against any claims from such a third party.
Generally, personal information is requested when requesting a particular service. You agree to provide accurate and current information and not to impersonate or misrepresent any person or entity or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with anyone or anything. We may require and/or use your personal information as follows: to transact with you via SMS, telephone, cellphone, postal address e-mail to provide services to you; to enable us to process, validate and verify requests for services and for the purposes for which you specifically provided the information.
Any other purpose: Durbanville Catholic Church ("DCC") use personal information to account for parishioners pledges and donations.
We shall be entitled to disclose personal information if required to do so
a) to comply with applicable law or with a legal process served on DCC or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary; b) to protect and defend the rights or property of DCC, and c) for the purposes of distributing same to various employees and/or third parties who assist us in providing services to you and thus need to know your personal information to render proper and efficient service to you.
We will ensure that all such employees, volunteers and/or third-party service providers have legal agreements that protect your confidentiality and non-use obligations of your personal information.
DCC does not sell, rent or lease its parishioner, donors or stakeholder lists to third parties.
While DCC takes reasonable measures to keep your personal information confidential, we cannot be held liable for any loss or damages suffered due to disclosing such information in the circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
We will:
treat your personal information as strictly confidential;
take appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure that your personal information is kept secure and ensure the protection against unauthorised or unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction or damage, alteration, disclosure or access;
promptly notify you if we become aware of any unauthorised use, disclosure or processing of your personal information;
provide you with reasonable evidence of our compliance with our obligations under this policy on reasonable request; and
upon your request, promptly return, destroy, rectify any and all of your personal information in our possession or control.
We will adhere to our agreed retention period regarding your personal information unless the law requires DCC to retain it for longer for statistical, historical, research purposes, or you consent to us retaining such information for a more extended period.
